I think you mean Elixir

A sweet flavoured liquid (usually containing a small amount of alcohol) used in compounding medicines to be taken by mouth in order to mask an unpleasant taste

A hypothetical substance that the alchemists believed to be capable of changing base metals into gold

Err... I think you mean "elixir".

An elixir is:

a. a cure-all... a "panacea", or a quick or magical cure
b.sweetened drug... a sweetened solution of a drug in alcohol and water
c. elixir of life... a miraculous substance! a substance once believed to prolong life indefinitely, or to transform base metals into gold. you know, like in alchemy.
