its in prgres... many NGO's and indian multinationals are promting thier products by inducting many rural personnels ...so its automatically.. leads to developments.. as from infrastructure purview indian govt trying hard to connect...all rivers( controversial) and roads to national highways..

Mahatma Gandhi always said that if you want to develop India then start developing Indian villages.
Now all the companies focusing are focusing on rural marketing as rural areas are generating almost 40 percent of their total sales.

what does you question mean actually?
Rural areas in India are not developed as expected field..
but it has developed in Television and other illegal activities..
Government really have to accelerate more to develop it..
Even many villages dont have electricity and Latrine facility yet..
I say Government is very slowy.. we got independence at 1947.. about 60 years past.. Still Rural areas are not developed..
