i've heard it too, but i don't think they've let anyone test the stone, lots of religions are scared of the whole science thing.

The very sad thing about islam today is that mohammed's claim to fame in his day and time was to put a stop to the idol worship in Mecca. He was strongly opposed in this effort because the Meccans made tons of money on tourists coming to worship idols. (The more things change....)

The sad part: now, uneducated muslims can be whipped up into a murderous rage by someone printing a picture of mohammed. What is this obsession except idolatry? It was Mohammed's ideas, not his person, that was important. (Also interesting that Mohammed was no Christ, not a lover, but a fighter. He was a man of his times, and he didn't talk to god, he talked to Jewish and Christian traders in his area and took their ideas - the koran tells many old testament stories - and tried to adapt and improve them for his area and his people.)

So sad that, just like with Christianity, the followers barely have the founder in his grave before they completely forget what they've been taught. Religion is definitely one of the very worst things to happen to humankind.

The stone is believed to be from Heaven. It came to world at the time of Ibrahim (as).
Muslims tell name of Allah for several times in their daily worship. They do not tell the name of the stone. And do not turn their faces to stone. They turn their faces to Kabe. Just because Allah asked to do so.
It is strictly forbidden to consider something or someone as if it /he / she is Allah.

they don't worship the stone, it's seen as the connect between us and Allah. It's the real-life application of the transitive property.

That being said, i hope you're not making fun of this. Because there is irony everywhere you look.

Idolatry is just as grave a sin in Islam as it is in Judaism. They don't worship it. They DO consider it a holy object that proves the power of Allah, though.

I haven't heard of that. All I know is that it is blasphemous to speak ill of Allah and the prophet. It is sacrilegious to worship anything but Allah.

Yes.
The stone wasn't black originally but became black when so many people with dirty hands touched it.
