You should word this question differently. Why would anyone give you the answer of how to hack into someone elses mail, which would allow you to hack theirs also. Only a fool would give you a straight answer to this question.

Now, If you mean how did a hacker break into your e-mail, then you really need to report that to your internet provider or your systems administator.

This is also an illegal question, It is against Federal law to solicit information for the purpose of acquiring a password. (or hacking) (even your own, because we have know way of knowing if it is really yours) Giving out this information over the net, and not in person is also a violation of the Law.
But your question might be an honest mistake so it was not reported.
