i know people who call the time and temperature number religiously... consult the thermometer regularly... stay glued to the weather channel exclusively... when it's very hot or very cold out.

why do you think people do that? does knowing the actual outside temperature give us some sense of control over the weather? does it make it harder or easier to bear if we know the difference between 103 and 104? are you a temperature junkie during extreme conditions?

I do not call or check continuously, but when I do find out how hot or cold it is, it gives me a sense of control, and a feeling of endurance... :-))

It is mildly interesting, too: "Is this a record being broken?"

No, I am not a junkie.

Sometimes "too freakin hot" or, "Geez, it's like a sauna out here!" is good enough for me. :-)) Same with cold... "Damn, it is so cold out here that I think my breath is going to freeze, and break off!" :-))

I might check the weather to see when it is expected to cool off or warm up; that is of more interest to me....

I do love it when it is so cold that the snow actually *squeaks* when you walk on it..." :-)) Better too cold than too hot, I say...And when it is too cold, the sky is so clear that the stars look like frosty torches...

Too hot makes me feel stuporous and lizard-like. Too cold energizes me, makes me feel like a survivor. :-))

Simply making a pot of good, home-made soup then makes me feel like I provisioned my family, and survived six months at the South Pole, if you know what I mean! :-))

I am a temp junkie! I am glued to the weather channel. Ihave to see what it will be like everyday before leaving the house. Maybe if I didn't know what the temp (and usually dew point) is, I probably wouldn't be so damn hot all the time!! Ha
I was just saying how it's going to be 80 and not 96 agian....now that is a huge difference, but it feels a ton better then 96! Especially with the dew point! AHH Weather...there is no controling it, so I try to dress for it :)

Actaully if I look at the thermometer and see it is in the 90's it actually makes me feel worse. I feel the heat more and complain more because I KNOW it's hot.
One degree in temp dones't make that much difference to me.. but 4 or 6 does.
I am a weather junkie too.. I'm not sure why I do it, but if it's extremly hot or extremely cold.. I am constantly looking at the thermometer. I don't know.. not unless it gives me something else to complain about...

Because if the temperature is 103 then you are just suffering, but if it reaches 104 and breaks the old record, then there is reason to celebrate.

nicely, it is extraordinary cuz interior the summer season time, that is so warm i like it to be wintry climate and then now interior the wintry climate time i like it to be summer season. In a way, Spring is my popular season because it isn't any longer too chilly and under no circumstances too warm yet typically i like summer season because it is warm, you do not might want to kit up and no college. yet I preferably be in freezing chilly climate, a minimum of i ought to easily kit up a lot. If it changed into sizzling warm, there is no longer a lot i visit do to kick back myself.
