Wrestling "Entertainment" is more male-focused "soap opera" and less athletic event. It was bad back in the mid-80s when my husband and I were growing up -- but it got so bad by 1990 that we haven't watched since. My 6th grade students, the boys anyhow, absolutely love it. Go figure. That appeal is still there for many people.
Olympic wrestling is a different thing altogether. It is a sport with scoring. It is focused and competitive. There are no ropes or slaps or anything like that.

Trust me--they're fake. That's why it's called World Wrestling Entertainment now (That, and the fact that the World Wildlife Fund sued). There are real wrestlers, but not the ones you see there--the high school, college and Olympic matches are the ones that are real.

Yes.. It's fake and choreographed.. you can sometimes see that they anticipate the moves.. but the slaps are really real.. they're just there to add spice to the match and to convince the audience that they're "fighting" =D
don't ever try what they're doing at home.. because they practice real hard to do those tricks that you see.. they're professionals at those stunts..

The fights are fake. They have to have a SAG (screen actor's guild) card. They are choreographed. I used to work at the Sportatorium in Dallas and watched them do it. Alst saw mortal enemies pile into a car and go out on the town afterward.

Maybe they use sound machines for the slaps. Wrestling's gotta be the most theatrical sport ever. If it wasn't faked I'd be highly disturbed about the fate of male elephants and boars. We'd be bringing back Roman times and regurgitating the food we binged on for dinner.

Huh, Dont u think that films are also pre planned and choreographed and shown to us. This is just like pictures. U dont know the suspense in it that who will win or who will lose. So just try to enjoy those fights.

Yes to the first question because the writers decide who wins the matches. For the second question, some fights are.

i prefer coreographed to fae. yes the fights are coreographed but the injuries are real. even a slap can give you a bruise and a suplex can give you mat burn. then theres the whole bladng thing where the wrestlers hve to cut themselves with a small blade in order to bleed. but back on topic yep its coreographed but it still looks great.

i think wrestling is fake cuz if the way the superstars hit each other and throw each other on the floor in for example a TLC match is true they sure would have died
