Stunning visuals, Epic stories, and dazzling musical scores. If these are all art forms, than why shouldn't games be art?

Only in so far as they're not mere entertainment. This also goes for visuals, stories and musical scores. I only consider a video game as a whole to be art when it raises me to a higher level of mortality. Such games are rare: Metal Gear Solid, for example. Or Wipeout Fusion (a shamanistic game, that). Or Shadow of the Colossus. Or Metroid Prime. These games are more than just fun - they're experiences. They actually contribute to the enhancement of your life. In fact, any game in which you can be submerged, which transports you, which is a trip, does that. Confusius once said that it's better to travel one mile than to read a thousand books. Only in so far as a book is a world in which you can travel is it a life-enhancing book. The same goes for video games.

Well, yes, perhaps in THAT view, videogames could be art, but art tinged with even just a bit of Science is contaminated art. Art is mainly for the glory of the heart, not of the mind.

Why anyone wouldn't consider video games a form of art is a mystery to me. They are the art of the future as the art preferred by today's youth. And me.

Of course. Interactive art to boot. It's also a science. It's everything all wrapped into one tiny, exploding, hacking, slashing, running, gunning, jumping, humping lil machine. God bless it!
