You sure can, especially if you get out from time to time to pee. There isn't much water that gets absorbed through the skin. It can be dangerous too because if you get too drunk you might not be able to swim if you get into some trouble.

Oh yes, it can happen in or out of a pool, even in an airconditioned building. Alcohol dehydrates a person no matter where they are. I heard some say "I am thirsty" and I watched them grab and drink a beer. This don't quench the thirst, it worsens it. It is not a healthy thing to do. If a person is to drink, drink in moderation and never forget that important water and sport drinks along with vitamins. Alcohol depletes your B vitamins in your body. I do enjoy a beer in the pool, so I admit it, and I enjoy one at the beach too! Not too much that I ignore nor over look the warnings about the dangers of alcohol and the sun and water. Too many drownings because of it.

Yes and yes. Drinking alcohol anywhere will dehydrate you, but especially where it is hot.

it degydrates you.
