That would be a bad idea, if by trash you mean radioactive and toxic waste ... simple reason: volcanoes have the bad habit of errupting, and spreading their contents over large surfaces. Some volcanoes can even cover the whole Earth in a small layer of dust from their erruption.

If by trash you mean the everyday waste, well, transportation would be difficult, and also there might be a space problem. Trash has the tendency to take A LOT of space, and volcanoes are not exactly that big when it comes to empty volume waiting to be filled. If you think that lava will melt the trash, please keep in mind that most volcanoes don't have a 'lava pool' on top, only very few highly active (and equally dangerous) ones.

no longer a answer yet an thrilling theory. greatest situation is going to be getting the trash into the crater. you won't be able to easily force to the sting and unload. We only favor to recycle a lot extra and stop making use of so dang a lot packaging. No I an no longer a tree hugger or a wacko environmentalist. only lifelike. for the reason that i began surely recycling I surely have decreased my weekly shipment to the landfill by using over 2/3rds. certain that is an issue yet i imagine that is truly worth it. also what takes position if the volcanoes erupt and spew all that gunk then someone has to sparkling it up. be truly undesirable and stinky!

Why put waste back into the earth? That's no better than dumping in the ocean or creating landfills.

Transportation is expensive but hey if i don't think cost should run with things such as human health. It sounds like a great idea to me. Only problem i can think of is the smoke that comes off it could get in the atmosphere.
