They are the bits put in all electrical equipment by the CIA to spy on people. That why the TV works fine when they are removed.

Excellent question, you are on a roll...

with my stuff it is always extra screws that appear at the end. There are two ways this happens.

1. Once an electrical appliance is assembled: they build in a special breeding program that creates new parts. The screws multiply.Once you have removed the cover, the other screws fall out, and subsequently left over...you never have confidence in the thing working again and eventually replace it because you think it is going to break anyway.

It is a cunning and insidiuous plan by the manufacturers to make us part with our hard earned cash, Damn you Sony!

2. All the odd socks that people ever lose actually transform into little bits of random electronicness, and hide in your house until you dis-assemble something : they jump into the pile of bits and bobs and then try to smuggle themselves out of the house.

Ahem! My partner asked me the same question after putting up a new set of bookshelves. I couldn't understand why either, asked him if they were safe to be told "Such a silly question" ... Si i loaded my books on it, starting from the bottom (Heavier one) i only made it to 3 shelf up when the whole shebang came down! It was only afterwards ... When checking out the leaflet that it read (Last page in small letters) That spare bits were in fact brackets that needed to be fitted at the back if!!!! The bookshelf was to contain books! I mean !!! So be careful, go voer your manual, especially small letters!

Sounds like your item will only work correctly for a while. I'm sure the bits came from somewhere so they need to go back on somehow.

Cause persoanlly I tend to find that manufactors add lots lots of extra little bits on just to make their product look slight more complex than it actually is-by taking it apart and putting it back together you remove the stuff they've added on and now you just have the stuff that works-BINGO BANGO!

you haven't put it together properly unless you do get spare bits, It i sthe sign of latent genius in you.

Enjoy the fact and celebrate your new found wisdom. 3-4 spar bits is par for the course generally.
