Scrapbooking is an awesome hobby. I love it, and it destresses me! I too, am a stay at home mom with 2 kids. It's something you can do alone or with friends and most scrapbooking stores hold classes once in awhile. My kids love to look through them and it's a great way to preserve those memories. What a neat book for you grandkids to look through eventually and not just a bunch of pictures slapped into an album that's just those clear pages and nothing else (writing ect.). You can spend as much or as little as you want. Be very creative or not so creative. It's up to you! Good Luck!

I to am a stay at home mom of three. I do a lot of scrapbooking and even get the kids involved. They love to show off the finished pages to everyone willing to look. It is a lot of fun, and even when we make mistakes on our pages it just turns into one more memory for us to share. I also started a Yahoo group not long ago for scrapbooking so that I could share my ideas and get help from others that love to do this. It is turning into a really great group of women! Most of us in it are beginners so when we have an issue with something we just post to the group and see who can help. If you decide that you might want to try scrapbooking you are more then welcome to come and check the group out. Or if you have any questions about it you can email me at my yahoo account using this ID.

If you have HGTV, you can watch Carol Duvall or That's Clever and see all kinds of crafts you can do for a hobby. Then when you go online you can find millions of resources and places to buy supplies online. One website I really like is www.joggles.com for doll making and jewelry too. Also, for yourself and the kids try Oriental Trading company (www.orientaltrading.com) for kits. They are very inexpensive and quite fun! Good luck and have fun.

Knitting is a great hobby to pick up. It's relatively easy to learn and after a bit of practice you can watch TV or a movie with your kids while you knit. It's also one of those great things that transfers well. So go outside and enjoy life and take your knitting with you!

So am I. I enjoy cross stitching, making jewelry, general crafts and reading. The general crafts are good for holiday items and the kids can help and use the scraps left over for their own projects.

have some nice and easy projects to start. I use the family fun for Halloween costumes. It is great time of year to start working on those.

i love crocheting blankets and things. there's alot of different ways to make stitches so it's fun to learn. and once you do learn, you can see your work paying off. i hate hobbies that turn out to be a bunch of wasted time. i like seeing a finished product and knowing that all the free time hours were well spent.

Scrap booking, start taking all the photos of your children and all the places and parties you have been and seen and make scrapbooks, my Wife does is, she says it is a lot of fun for her and it keeps all your memories fresh, as well you are creating something wonderful for all to enjoy when you are done.
The best part is you never make a mistake, and it is unique and all your own.

Well, if you can save up $100 or so you can get a halfway decent beginners guitar at walmart and learn to play some songs.

The answers above me all fell into the / your trap...

Don't say "I can't get out.'

GET OUT !!!

Need a baby sitter? Barter for it.. Wash their window. Clean their house. Weed their garden. Pick their noses..

But get away and out.. And don't go to some bar..

Go fishing. Go walking. Go window shopping. Go to a community college.

Doesn't matter as long as you GO SOMEPLACE....

I've started making jewelry...bracelets & earrings mostly. You can buy all kinds of beads, etc...at Michaels (Crafts) and places like Walmart. You can spend as much or as little as you want...or as your budget allows. I've got my granddaughters into it also...they love making ankle bracelets with the clear elastic & pretty little beads.
