OK then, in no particular order...
1832 Reform Act - changed the organisation (and, therefore, the inherent corruption) in the voting system.
Publication of Darwin's 'Origin of Species' - I would hope that needs no commentary.
Poor Law Amendment Act (can't remember the exact date) - providing 'humanitarian' (relatively speaking) relief for the poor.
Coronation of Queen Victoria (1834ish?) - Defined the nation and created the foundations of what would become an Empire. Something GB is still recovering from.
and...erm...Oh, of course! Stephenson's 'Rocket' 1829 - trains, transport, communication and all that.
