Absolutely yes. Just as a point of reference, stand sometime at a crosswalk where traffic is waiting and then takes off at the change of the light. Do you notice a difference in air quality? and that is only a few cars!
Air pollution is also caused by the manufacturing processes of cars and the readying of oil as gasoline. Not only will you be reducing emissions you will be extending the life of your car which means less cars need to be made. There are tons of pollution created during the manufacturing process of cars. Also by not using as much gas you are helping to reduce the pollution created during the drilling, pumping, transport and conversion of oil to gasoline.
Plus, and I know you did not ask this but as an added benefit, if you walk or ride bicycle you are helping to reduce the costs of health care by staying healthier :)

Definitely. Cars emit carbon-dioxide, a greenhouse gas that traps heat. Soon, low-lying countries, such as Holland will be buried by water that is, unless poeple change their attitudes towards making a difference.
