I still prefer my yahoo account, or my hotmail account.

I mean gmail gives you 2gb of storage, but doesn't yahoo too?

I only signed up for the gmail account when the invitations were so hard to get when they first rolled it out. I wanted to make sure I got my first initial, last name@gmail.com before it got snatched up by someone else. I log into it occasionally, but I still don't see what the attraction is. Maybe someome can explain the pros and differences between yahoo email vs. gmail?

it's not just about storage space...
what i like about gmail is that it clusters the replies to your email, resulting in conversation threads. it seems to be a logical way of organizing mail, instead of purely by date received. of course, this doesn't work perfectly... esp when people reply to an old email (for ease of not having to type in your email address again) with a completely unrelated topic.
gmail is also nice because it incorporates a text chat feature within the email program. so sometimes when i'm about to shoot an email back to someone, and i see that he/she is online, i'd rather have a quick text chat with him/her... these opportunities for serendipitous synchronous communication cuts down the dead waiting time in what is otherwise an asynchronous mode of communication.

Well.... The first big thing about gmail is storage. I dont think yahoo gives that much.
gmail saves your replies as a conversation. Its easier to followup. Yahoo doesnt do this.
gmail is faster than yahoo.

Thats what I can think of.

gmail loads faster than yahoo as they use ajax tech. it becomes more important when you are in a country where adsl is not good enough.
