A real top of the heat July-question ! I am here in the basement and I just spotted the artifical tree, only so that you know how I came up with a question like this on July 20.

I like artifical trees because they look nice and they do not shed the needles. If u want the smell of pine in your home u just buy a can of it when u go to the store for the decorations

There is nothing like the smell throught the whole house, like a real CHRISTmas tree. It just seems to complete the senses of the season. I have had an artificial, due to money issues, but for me, its a tradition, a great smelling, memory filled, vacuuming up afterwards tradition. Sometimes I worry about the cutting of the fresh tree, but I know that they are being replanted just as quickly, and the trees, the "groves" of Christmas trees are giving off dearly needed oxygen, plus doing a good job of reducing hill and mountain runoff. Christmas in July! (yankee candle does have one that smells pretty close!)
Merry Christmas!

I prefer the REAL deal! :) I love the smell and decorating it each year. Growing up my family used to go and cut a pine tree out of our woods each year and drag it home to decorate - it was a great tradition and SO much fun. I have to confess that since I've been grown and out on my own though I've been using an artificial tree because of the clean - up. Maybe this year I'll get back into the real trees again? :)

Well, in fact I would probably choose an artificial one.. I know that the smell of a real x-mas tree is nice but I don't want to kill a tree just for pleasure...

I will prefer a real one.
It smells wonderful and it brings up the atmosphere in the house during Christmas.
You wouldn't need to buy an artificial one every now and then.
Since you've got a real X-mas tree, you can grow it and keep it until you want.
Although it might be many years since you bought it, it will still smell nice.
I have a X-mas tree in my house and it has been the same one since 3 years . It still smells nice(:

I love the real ones but I feel too guilty killing a great tree, so I use fake ones. I know you can get live ones with the root ball, but I live in the woods and don't need to plant any; however, that is a good option for those who have the room to plant a tree.

Real trees are so nice and beatuiful. I love the smells it puts into my home. But they are very messy and a big fire danger. I have a big artificial tree to place the presents around but then I buy a little tree for the wonderful smell and use it as a center piece.

I like a real Christmas tree because it's fun going to pick it out and it smells good. The downside of that is that it dries out pretty quickly and then you have to haul it out of the house and make a mess. We always have a real tree, but I've been griping about getting a fake one for the last couple of years. Maybe one of these days I'll just beat my husband down to the point where he goes out and gets a fake tree just to shut me up! LOL

I like the smell of a real Christmas tree, if it has a nice shape it is nicce, some can look a bit sad. What i dont like about real ones is the mess it tends to make. I like the fibre-optic Christmas tree. It would be nice if they had ones that had a built in smell of the pine needles.
