recently my younger sister age 8 has been biting herself because she is mad...im wondering if it is a stage she is going through or is it a problem she needs help with...

my kids never bit themselves.....

nor have any kids I've known.....

this sounds like a problem, I would talk to her pediatrician first....

It is a form of cutting or self abuse. It can become worse if not treated by a professional. What needs to be known is if she is doing it in front of you or in private? I would be more apt to say it is an attention thing rather than a cutting issue if she does it in front of you. Cutting or self abusers tend to be very private about their habit.

Take her to a Specialist Doctor of Psychology, as early as possible.
