ok.
uhm.
i am in 2nd year, 10th grade in US. my teacher is unfortunately expecting something really great coming from me and she wants it to be extraordinary.
my other classmates are doing bacteria growth things and etc.
my teacher also doesn't want our project to be much involved with plants since it is pretty common.
since i am in 2nd year, our project must relate with biology so all that is left is bacteria, fungi and animals.

PLEASE HELP ME!!
if you need more details please ask me!

Think back to the topics you have covered in class. Were there any of them that made you want to go and look for more information? List all the topics you have covered and go through them one by one to see if any of them spark an interest.

Your teacher is the best person to advise but he/she is probably asking you to choose for yourself (that's part of the criteria of the project) and is restricting him/herself to advising you whether what you have chosen is suitable.

Edit: Fungi is great! They grow really quickly, so think about a project to do with saccaromyces (yeasts). They float around in the air and there are many different kinds. You can capture them and grow them very quickly (look up sourdough bread). They also occur naturally on the skins of grapes - which is why wine just ferments on its own. There are special kinds for beer and breadmaking - some produce more alcohol and some more CO2 - why?

For further ideas, have a look here. (It's really a site for teachers of 9th and 10th grades): http://www.awesomelibrary.org/Classroom/Science/General_Science/General_Science.html

Also, here are the Google results for '10th grade biology projects'. Something useful there, I'm sure ... if only how to choose and plan a project!

NOTE: If you remember, I would be interested to know what you chose and why and what bounds you set yourself (goal, thesis, whatever you call it).
