I am a veterean and dont understand why Bush slashes vetereans health care. I am going to reenlist, because I am so proud to have served, that I am going to do it again even if Bush s**** me out of health benefits.

well, they fought for our freedom, something not many would do. most suffered through countless night of lingering death, others have seen thier squad, even platoons of soldiers lost. Veterans, especially war veterans deserve more than what we give them.

YOUR a VET.......... I find that hard to believe. Anyone who could be so ignorant as to what a true veteran has done through an honorable tour of duty in their life and ask a question like your doing doesn't know his a** from a hole in the ground. As a vet I never asked for anything except what was promised and given to me. I volunteered to serve this country I loved and to pay back the freedoms afforded to me through others that had done the same for me. Free handouts you say? I wish you'd go to a National Cemetery and question those who lay in those graves what they did to make sure YOU have the freedom today that I and others hope is still around tomorrow. I wouldn't attempt to go into a public bar and ask this question around any veterans though as you may be looking for a free handout for someone to carry you out.

In a world where baseball players ( even unproven ones) are paid millions while soldiers are paid less than labor wages, a little help with health care for those who put their lives on the line so that we all may remain free doesn't seem too much to ask. Now does it?

Dude! They have earned free health care. Why don't you serve in the Armed Forces, get wounded, and then say something like that. If you start to mistreat the men, and women, of the Armed Forces, you really are just an enemy of the common man.

They get NOTHING free. What they get they earned by giving pricks like you the right to say what you want......If you want some of the "free handouts" just go to your local recruiter and sign on the dotted line...I guarantee your mind will be changed about this before you get out of boot camp!
And amen lckmstr4u....you hit the nail on the head!

I think that all vets should have all benefits there is. A vet have given his body and soul to fight for his country and his country,
and should be taken care of when service ended, in every way.

"Handout" ?? They 'EARNED' everything this country can give them...
Unlike the THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of welfare 'mom's and dad's' and illegals that sit on their bums and have offered or give this country nothing...
The next time you want to think about vets go look at the opening of Saving Private Ryan...Then tell us our vets don't deserve..
