A very difficult question for me, as both of them happen to be two of my favorite actors of all time. De Niro is my favorite for his cool-collected gangster like persona onscreen and is a very good actor, Pacino is my favorite because of his ability to be sooo suave on and offscreen. Who's better? Neither. They are equals.

Al Pacino for GodFather 1 & 2.. but 3 was rubbish.. He was
better in ScarFace

Robert De Niro for GodFather 2 and The Deer Hunter, Taxi etc etc...

What a mean question. Well...De Niro is more believable as the character, because Pacino is always Pacino. That's too bad.

I think it's a tie. Both are excellent at being truly evil. Pacino as Scarface is a cultural icon. De Niro can get any roll being a bad a**. I think he did a movie called "The Devil's Advocate" where he played Satan. Either way both hands down are fairly an even match.

Al Pacino use to be. I loved "Dog Day Afternoon," but Robert De Niro has shown how versatile he can be from "Cape Fear" to "Meet The Parents."

That is an imposable choice to make. They are both better then everybody else. How about Godfather 2 DeNiro does an exelent job as a young Vito Corleone and Pacino plays an exelent Michael Corleone.

"Say Hello To My Little Friend"!!!
Al Pacino--Scar Face.

But there is that movie Robert De Niro played in, and I don't remember the name but--
He's a detective or something, and over at his wife's house, her boyfriend is there loafing on the couch and watching tv.
RDN walks over, yanks the tv out of the wall and says,
You can do my wife, and sit on my couch, but you can't watch my tv. LOL

I prefer Al Pacino. The Scent of a Woman brings out his
character to the max.

I really like Al Pachino, he is no doubt amazing in the Godfather, Scarface, Scent of woman and Devils Advocate etc.

But as an actor De Niro has far more range and I clearly like him better. Taxi Driver and Raging Bull have outstanding perform aces. He can play gangster (Al Capone in Untouchables, wow!) He can be funny, Analyze this and Meet the parents. Or psycho Cape fear, Fan and King of Comedy. Stroke victim in Flawless.

The only way to really compare them is to watch them together in Heat, they are both terrific in it, but in my opinion Bob steals the show.
