Why did you just advertise your name and password to every soul on the face of the earth? Are you an idiot?

I guess you'd better get a new password, and this time...keep it to yourself.

You are going to need a new password now, anyway. I am not surprised that someone changed the password, since you are so free with your details!

Using that ID (without the @yahoo.com) attempt to sign in anywhere in Yahoo and click the Forgotten Password link. Enter the personal details it asks for and you will be sent a new password (or allowed to change it online).

Next time, don't be such a muppet as to TELL anyone your password or to make it such an obvious word - God needs no bimbos ... only people with some sense!

A good strategy is to include some numbers and characters in your password and also to have some letters capital and some lowercase.

'merciful' is a reasonable length - 8 characters is a recommended password length - but you could make the same word more secure as follows:

1) Replace certain letters such as E, O, A, I with numerals - 3, 0, 4, 1, for example.

2) Use both capital and lower case

So 'merciful' might become 'm3Rc1fUL'

The advantage of capitals is that it is harder for someone to get your password from watching you type. You can hold your finger over the shift key and people can't see when you press it for certain letters so easily.

Another way to make a good password is to take a sentence of, say 7 or 8 words that you can remember and just use the first letter of each word.

It is good practice, too, to change your password regularly - even by just using the month number at the beginning or end. OH! And DON'T use 'merciful' as a password in any shape or form, of course. What I gave you above was an EXAMPLE, right?

Your password is your responsibility. It is really nobody's fault but yours that your account was hacked. For such a username, it is a pretty obvious and guessable password!

I don't mean to be rude, but what a totally stupid thing to do advertising your email and your password. No wonder someone is abusing it. Your ID sure fits your IQ.

Why is this under Psychology? It should have been listed under Yahoo.

I had seen a phone number at one time but I never paid attention to it because it was a toll call to California.
It was for customer service.

I just don't think I should have to pay for a call to them to fix their product.
I can easily stop using Yahoo and go one just like I did before Yahoo and really not give a hoot.
