When I ask a serious question I only get a few, so I try asking a stupid, unimportant question (just like everyone else, it seems... except for y'all, of course) and I still get no where near what others get with even dumber questions! I don't get the trick here people...

Once, I saw a girl with 238!! answers to a basic home maintenance question... so I asked something similar and... 5!!

I know this seems stupid to ask, it's just that it gets frustrating sometimes, and I don't get it.

Well I believe that the more answers you get, the better chance you have of getting the correct one that fits your circumstance..

That is okay everyone on here excluding you and me must be all perverts because I asked a serious child question to see if I could get the response that famous Author got, I got 3. So either they are ALL DUMB or all sicko's, or have nothing at all better to do than to give stupid answers, and prove to the world that American's are uneducated and just not very smart. Course if you all answer his question with some brains then maybe my opinion will change. I am sixth generation American.

Maybe you only got 5 answers because 238 people already answered that question and wont be bothered to answer again.
Next time, try using the 'seaching for questions', your question may already been asked and answered.
And you can try asking those questions that you really have no clue about and no one had ask before.

Maybe the home questions was featured or it was a easy question that a logical person would know the answer to. You should only be worried about getting the right answer to your question, not getting a ton of answers.

I really beleive it is timing.
When and were your questions pops up.
This afternoon I asked a question and when the page refreshed it was already on the 2nd page.

Is it the time of day you ask? The questions roll off pretty quickly.

i just looked at all your past questions.

yes, it may be timing,
but

none of those questions interested me ( what is your favorite....)

some looked like they were just another question by someone wanting to(forgive me) rant about politics.

Some seemed very demanding, like "ANSWER MY QUESTION !!!!"

So, it is a combination of things.

either the same kind of question has been asked before, or it's boring and/or stupid? and timing, maybe.
