"Seven" with Kevin Spacey as the bad guy.

"Silence of the Lambs" with Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lechter and the Wild Bill charachter.

"Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer" starring Michael Rooker as the serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. To me, this is the most disturbing one as it is the most realisitic. It was originally rated "X" for "moral tone" when it was to have been released and not released until a few years later. I have only watched it once and know I would not be able to sit through it again.

An older one that most will overlook is 1988 "Criminal Law" with Kevin Bacon as the serial killer and Gary Oldham as his defense attorney with the tagline for the movie being "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster."
