I was fired from my job today. I'm disappointed but not entirely upset. The female training me worked there for over a year, and she was efficient in her job. When our supervisor told her what I did previously, she just didn't want to spend time training me. Actually, I spent three days at my desk with NOTHING to do. It was odd.
So anyway, I live about 40 minutes from work, but with traffic and accidents on a daily basis, no matter how early I leave, I come in a minute or so late. It's inevitable that I would be let go for this reason. So I realized the job was too far away. However, the woman that trained me pressured the supervisor to let me go. When I did come in early, the next day she'd do the same as well to beat me in. She didn't want to train me anymore on the job, nor would she speak to me. When I took a step up to help her with her work, she snottily implied she wasn't happy I was helping her. I was overqualified for this job, but I was doing my best.

Yes she could have been intimidated, but that doesn't help you going forward. Truly, without sounding harsh, if you felt that being a couple of minutes late was hurting you, you could leave a 1/2 earlier or even more. Apparently you did show up early sometimes, so the traffic constraints weren't really an issue. I don't want to appear unsympathetic, as I have experienced exactly what you went through, actually right now at my current job. you know how you hear how awful people will try to sabotage your career by giving you bad advice? Well the person who's supposed to train me does this ALL the time, and then tells the manager I'm doing things wrong. It cracks me up because she's so transparent. The funny thing is I own my own business that's fairly lucrative and I took this job as a side job to be current and have the workplace camraderie that you miss from working by yourself all the time. Well screw that! Good luck with the job search

You not worry about her problem, try another job even when its very hard. And come half hour early to be relaxed.
