Look at men and women as a story in the newspaper. Men are HEADLINES, they want to STAND OUT. Women are the small print, they go into detail. Men are frustrating because we don't take the time to read the small print. We just spout off the headline and keep going. If men REALLY took the time to "read the small print", we would be more understanding and less frustrating. We must remember, without the small print of the story, a headline is useless.

I've been with my man for a year and a half now, and I wouldn't want to swap him, but I do agree with you - even my man (who is my darling soulmate) can be soo frustrating at times! Heres a few reasons:
- Man flu - the main reason!!! When he has a bit of a sniffle, the whole world revolves around him. Lord help us is he gets the flu for real!!
-Not listening to me. I talk to him about something really important, then either find he's been asleep though the whole thing, or he just looks up and says "huh?"
-More help around the house and with my son. He has taken on my son, which was lovely of him, but we both work part-time jobs, and it would be nice if he didn't just come home from work and go to sleep while I do all the driving back and forth and the housework!
-He never tells me what he's really thinking. If I ask him whats wrong, he says "oh, nothing", then bottles it up and throws it back at me a few days later.
AAARGH, but I love him to bits!!!

We humans are not really all that complex to begin with.We have the nasty tendency to look for the why's in our relationships, when the answer comes from within each other. In general , when men are involved in a serious relationship, suchas marriage ,he is no longer focused on just his own needs and desires or those of his mate. But rather , he now focuses on the whole picture, the two of you. Whereas, in general women focus in on the finer details of the picture adding more color to enliven the relationship. While we humans do not have all the answers in life ,we all do our part in painting a beautiful portrait of relationships with the ones in our lives be it any type of relationship. consider this, if we started a painting with one co-painter,and decided to trade co-painters for a new one, then the picture we desire to achieve may not be completed to satisfaction and colors that are chosen by the new co-painter may not smoothly blend with your colors. A thought to ponder on , if one were to go through life changing partners every so often , would definitely be sending out a negative message about oneself. Which would not be a good thing.

Men are so frustrating because men and women are raised in different cultures - really.
the treatment of girls and boys starts when they are STILL IN THE NURSERY in the hospital. boys get rewarded for things girls are punished for, and vice versa.
it is a wonder we can communicate as well as we do.
there is something called ACTIVE LISTENING.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_listening
if you learn this technique, you can clarify what you and your boyfriend ( or whoever) are trying to communicate. it can get easier.

they are programmed to be. have you ever had an un-frustrating man? i haven't even met one yet. sometimes i think it would be nice to lease the boyfriend, as opposed to signing on the dotted line. but then, i think that it took me 2 years to get him to do this, and 8 months for him NOT to do this...yada yada yada...it takes awhile to train them, and i just don't know if i have the patience anymore.
