Unfortunately I’m afraid that I would have to agree with everyone who says that we’re already in World War III, we’re just fortunate that it’s not on our shores anymore, the first strike obviously being the World Trade Center. With our troops fighting overseas, it’s easy to think that war is remote from us and that we’re in a state of reasonable peace, but that is a grave mistake because of all the people who are killed every day in this war on terrorism.

No signs of impending WW3 yet.

The Mid East have always been one of the world's most volatile regions; the Korean Peninsula is another unresolved potential hotspot - apart from these two areas, there are no flashpoint on the European, African, American continents.

While the "war on terror" is global, terrorists acts by themselves are limited in scope as compared to a conventional war (eg. Afghanistan, Iraq) requiring massive deployment of troops. Hence the need to ensure that countries who sponsor terror organizations do not have access to wmds and/or the capacity to produce.

Israel's military operation in Lebanon so far have mostly been aerial bombing of Hezbollah targets and infastucture with some operation involving IDF troops in south Lebanon, Gaza. While massive troop deployment is still on the card, Iran, Syria will not lock horns directly with Israel's forces in Lebanon. Even if they do, there will be non-miltary intervention by the world's superpowers.

By and large other Arab countries: Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Libya, Iraq have been 'silent' over Israel's attacks on Lebanon-Hezbollah because they themselves oppose a strong Hezbollah or Hamas. Iran and Syria who are Hezbollah, Hamas sponsors are the only two countries indirectly involved.

How can the current world scenario bring about a world war?

No, the WW3 will happen only if Iran will intervene in a war between Lebanon and Israel.

And Jon H, please stop with 9/11. There are more tragic and horrible things in the world you even don't know, because people,TV are not interested

december 23 , 2012 .
be prepared...........
it involves christmas in the holy land,
events will happen during american political process in that time frame.
the publicized time frame will be a consolidation of the axis
of evil, of players that choose to leave the global scene and go their own way.
alliances of an economic nature outside the current world order
are already underway as a precursor to this phenomenon.
there will be an outbreak of a plague that will come to fore
and the perpetrator will be bent on world domination
involving the ungodly and those who call in the name of god
using god as an excuse to further their cause.
an ' unholy alliance',
combined with a disaster of the highest order, utilized as a distraction.

i know things, see things coming.
it is a gift i have , and always have had.

Possibly, but I am a little confussed as to what the sides would be. Unless Russia or China appose the US and Europe than I don't think it could really be considered a true WW.

Already here. World War 3 started at 9.11. But no one wants to admit it. Take a look at all the violence in every corner of the globe and it is plain to see.

It depends on how you define world war. The "war on terrorism" is worldwide, so you can say we are in one, but there are no such alliances as in the previous two ones, so it's quite impossible at the moment.
