I was a teen in the '70's and never say any of them, but do recall there were several controversies.
Marilyn Chambers, who had a girl next door look to her, was in a movie called something like "Beyond the Green Door", but prior to that, she has modelled for a products as a mom holding a baby on a baby detergent called something like "Snowy" and several women's groups were outraged and demanded that the company remove her from their products and commercial which they did. One thing I wondered was how would the women have known this lady was a porn star if they had not watched her films (remember there were no VCRs or DVDs in those days...you had to go to an actual adult movie theater to see that sort of thing) and wasn't it sort of hypocritical that it was ok to watch the lady do stuff on screen, but not ok for the same lady to be a spokesmodel for a product they would buy.
Another one was the whole Linda Lovelace "Deep Throat" controversey. Prior to that, oral copulation had not been portrayed in any major porn film and there were people that were trying to get it banned as obscene. What made it really sad was that Linda Lovelace was psychologically abused by her husband/producer who would hypnotise her into being able to relax so her gag reflex would not kick in when she performed what the title of the film indicated. She got away from him and got out of the industry and was an avid anti-pornography advocate until her death.
