I'm freaking sick of hearing wally World employees betch and moan about poor salaries and poor benefits provided by the company. Wal-Mart pays what it does because that is what they want to pay. If you don't like it, then go to work someplace else. Wal-Mart owes you nothing but the amount you agreed to when you signed your contract. If you don't like that, then why did you apply for the job in the first place? They are the number one retailer in the world for a reason, and it's not because they pay outlandishly high salaries or hourly wages. Get a clue.

The reason they are the number one retailer isn't the reason you think it is. There are other reasons as well. They got there by breaking employment laws in several states, hiring illegal aliens to clean their stores at night in several states (while the stores they are competing against weren't doing that, so they had an advantage already [over those stores] on what it cost them to sell their wares in those states).

They engaged in all kinds of other illegal business practices to put mom and pop stores (and a lot of other stores and companies) out of business all over the country. They engaged in ruthless and illegal strong-arm tactics with their suppliers (tactics that they could be prosecuted for under anti-trust laws the way Microsoft was).

They didn't get where they are by being honest, good and decent, trust me.

* Oh (added as an after thought - after being reminded by n K's post - three or four down from mine on here), and they also cheat their employees on the wages that the employees DID agree to, and so did Walmart, but they make them work after hours (off the clock) and don't pay them. Big surprise!

What's the old expression? Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

there is the other side of the coin
Lieff Cabraser and co-counsel represent separate classes of hourly wage earners at Wal-Mart in the States of Washington and New York who allegedly have been forced to work "off-the-clock" (without pay). The plaintiffs are current and former Wal-Mart employees who allege that Wal-Mart has violated state wage and hour laws

Brush your teeth, daily. Floss and rinse as well. Be sure to steer away from sweets. Also, it doesn't help to get a College degree in dentistry of course.

-Perhaps you should contact the tooth fairy as she may be able to get you a dentistry job there. Hold on, I just happen to have her contact information:

Tooth Fairy:
Last known address: Hostess CupCake Factory
Occupation: Overpaying people for their teeth
Telephone number: 1-800-Dollar4TOOTH
Email: ToothlessJOE@InvestmentTeethin...

I hope this information helps. GOOD LUCK. Tell her "Sugar Pie," sent you. You'll be a shoe in.

I think $8/hour is pretty good for what I see those people doing or not doing as the case may be.
