why isn't it sweet 15 or 17?

My friend has taken Spanish for three years now. She says in Mexico it is Sweet 15. I wonder why. Interesting

It means that a girl is very tasteful and delicious when at 16. Above 16, the girls taste bitter and even lose it as she grew older until smelling like soil.

it's the age where pretty much everything changes. you can get a car, therefore you can move away, live your own life. it's the middle of the life of a teen. I can't wait!!!!!!
