Not many Republicans of today would have been recognized as Republicans 30-40 years ago, they would have been called Democrats. Quite a few of todays Democrats would have been called communists. Take the so-called progressive members of the Democratic Party, they are proud of their communist roots. Madeline Albright called the Red Communist Chinese her "good friends", I am confident that Bill and Hillary approved.
I honestly cannot say I would want to be a member of either the Republican or Democrat Party, their actions do not reflect an interest in doing what is best for the citizens of the USA, nor for the USA as a country. They will not protect our borders, they will not fight a war to a winning conclusion(Granada is the only exception since WW2) they fund the corrupt UN, they continue to overtax US citizens even though lower taxes put more money in the US treasury.... considering that high taxation is a form of control, I understand their thinking, but I do not like it.

Nope, I find that conservative ideals generally are better for humanity.
The other side today believe that it is best to negotiate with someone who attacks you rather than defending yourself. They tolerate facism, and generally believe that it is more important to have power then to act for the good of the country.
They value animals and nature more than people, at the expense of the poor. They value equality, without understanding that the cost of equality is universal poverty. They appreciate theoretical ideas, but often are completely ignorant of the actual impact when those ideas become policy.

I can't prove stupidity except in the case of Dubyah, but narowmindedness and bigotry help as well as a belief that poor people are in the way on earth and greed runs amok...

You don't have to be stupid to make such a broad generalization of people who don't agree with you, but it definitely helps. But then again, I'm sure you already know that.

Umm, no, I think you have to be stupid to be a Democrat.
Being a Republican isn't perfect, but it's the lesser of two evils, obviously.

I don't consider someone with different views than my own stupid. I'd probably say blind and oblivious.
