I have always heard that mosquito's main attraction is due to carbon dioxide. Here is some info from a link....
Only female mosquitoes bite. They are attracted by
+ several things, including heat (infrared light), light, perspiration,
+ body odor, lactic acid and carbon dioxide.
+
+ Dark Clothing
+ Many mosquitoes use vision to locate hosts from a distance. Dark
+ clothes and foliage are initial attractants.
+
+
+ Carbon Dioxide
+ You give off more carbon dioxide when you are hot or have been
+ exercising. A burning candle or other fire is another source of carbon
+ dioxide.
+
+
+ Lactic Acid
+ You release more lactic acid when you have been exercising or after
+ eating certain foods (e.g., salty foods, high-potassium foods).
+
+
+ Floral or Fruity Fragrances
+ In addition to perfumes, hair products, and scented sunscreens, watch
+ for the subtle floral fragrance from fabric softeners and dryer sheets.
+
+
+ Skin Temperature
+ The exact temperature depends on the type of mosquito. Many mosquitoes
+ are attracted to the slightly cooler temperatures of the extremities.
+
+
+ Moisture
+ Mosquitoes are attracted by perspiration because of the chemicals it
+ contains and also because it increases the humidity around your body.
+ Even small amounts of water (e.g., moist plants or mud puddles) will
+ draw mosquitoes. Standing water also allows mosquitoes to reproduce.

Some mosquitoes do get atrracted more to others then other people.
My grandmother does not get bit by mosquitoes. Thats becasue she takes lots of medicene and smokes. It depends if your taken medicne if you smoke if your body temp is higher. Mosquitoes are attracted to warm stuff. There was a time were I was sick with some virus and i needed medicine and mosquitoes did not bite me but couple months later after the medicne stoped they bit me

Mosquitos are attracted to a variety of things. Dont wear blue, because this is the most attractive color to a mosquito. Try using Avons 'skin so soft' before venturing out; it contains ingredients which are helpful repellents. I used to wear a leather shirt. It was hot, but mosquitos cant bite through leather, even tho they are attracted to it! Good luck, those pesky things can drive you crazy...

I'm not sure why you and there are good answers previously, I can tell you that if you rub Basic H on your skin you won't get bites. and if you or someone else does get bit, just wet your finger with Basic H and dab the bite. It is simply amazing !
I just put a drop on my finger and then touch it to any bites I may have, or someone else’s bites. I never thought about it until someone told me while I was complaining about chigger bites. Chigger bites are nasty ! A dab and presto, no itch.
A friend got into a bees nest and had over 100 bites. We tested it out on a couple of bites and it provided relief. I gave him the bottle I had and he applied it all over.
Another friend just last weekend used it on his poison ivy when the store bought product he used was ineffective. One application and bingo no itching, been 6 days now and no itching since. It is also biodegradable, non-toxic and eco-friendly.
Someone told me it was selected as eco-friendly cleaner of the year on an Earth Day.

Mosquitos are attracted to the CO2 and moisture from your breath, as well as your heat. To deter them try taking brewers yeast from the natural food store, or a vitamin B supplement.

If you've just eaten bananas mosquitoes will bite you more often than ever. Only female mosquitoes bite and only just before they get ready to mate.

mosquitoes are attracted to dark clothes like black , so if you wear black most of the time then you are likely to get bitten by them.
