it is called lipstick because it generally sticks to your lips plus it doesn't make you all glossy unlike lipgloss. also, if you use something called lipcote it sticks more so it gives you an even cover all day long.

Lipstick because...
it comes like a stick, in a tube!...and also maybe because when you apply it it does stick to your lips to give them colour!...long lastign lipsticks they do make your lips stick together!...lol because they 'stick' on to your lips to make them last longer...so you have to put lipgloss on them to make them smooth and non-sticky!

I think their talking about the actual product. The "stick" is the colorful gloss,you have to push up by using the twisty mechanism,on the bottom.
