India is slowly winning its all its wars.

Thirty years ago, Pakistan, China and the USA all were hostile to India, with China and Pakistan both involved in shooting wars.

The diplomacy and patience displayed are encouraging.

With the exception possibly of the French, india has what are probably the most sophisticated and nuanced leaders on the planet. They are forced to be very accomodating as befits the worlds largest democracy, and country with such a wildly diverse set of ethnic groups and histories.

India needs to stay the course and not change what they are doing except they have to lose what is left of the caste system.

India has been waging its own war against terrorism, probably the only in the world which has been doing that much longer than any other country in the world. When India was voicing her concerns in the international forums about terrorism & its ramifications on a global scale in the future, say about three decades ago, the world leaders looked down upon it as one of India's internal problems. They (read western powers) always thought that they were & will be immune to these. But 9/11 changed all that, US being the victim of its own creation (Taliban).
Since then "Global fight against Terrorism" became the slogan of the US Government to serve its own national interests.
No country has suffered more than India in her war against terrorism. Terrorism doesn't have a specified target, its covert & it takes real guts & patience to contain or uproot it. It took 11 years for the terrorism in Punjab to be uprooted. But patience and planning had paid back well. To fight terrorism, it needs the will & guts to hit back strongly, alienate them from the common people & above all human touch to those who are ready to shed violence so that they can be brought back into social mainstream.

The governments are not elected to lead a country to war. War is the last weapon to be used when all else fails. Just because other countries are waging a war in the name of terrorism, it doesn't mean India or its leaders should do it.

A war will setback the country by a decade or two in its progress. Just turn back and look at what happened during Kargil which is mini war. More than 500 young lives were lost for the sake of recovering few barren hills. Government imposed a surcharge to finance such a small war.

This country is the birth place of Mahatma who preached and followed ahimsa and laid down his life. Let us not talk about war.

Let us give our leaders a chance to overcome the obstacles instead of tying their hands by talking about "act tough", "surgical strikes" etc.

Even the earlier government run by Ataljee did the sensible thing to highlight the cause after the parliament attack and then diffusing the crisis by pull-back.

Let us live in peace and preach it others.

Good luck.

The only country that has been truly waging a war on terror is Russia. In USA 'war on terror' is a marketing slogan to fool the idiots and get their votes. In India, the government itself is run by terrorists.

India in not lagging behind in this war against terrorism. India is also fighting well against this menace, but being a multicultural, pluralistic and democratice country, sometimes it becomes a little difficult. Fighting against terrorism does mean a fight against a particular religion. Fighting against terrorism means fight against fundamentalism. Al-Quada and Ladin are symbols only of this fundamentalism.
Unfortunately, some countries of Middle East Asia and South Asia are encouraging this fundamentalism which reveals itself in the form of rise of Talibans, Hizbollahs, Hamas and other anti-social organisations.
India is not week and it is not behind in this fight. But seeing its own peculier conditions, India a moving catiously.
