I read this book by Rabecca Brown,"Vessel of Honor". It started out alright until i came to this part that states cathilicism is a doorway to satanism. I am a dedicated catholic, and in love with Jesus.......am definately not a satanic follower....
Ever since i read this book, my spiritual life hasn't been the same. I feel so empty, i feel like i dont know myself anymore. Please Help

Read your Bible and pray. Ask the Lord for peace in your heart, and don't pay attention to this book. The Lord loves you and Jesus died for you. Hold onto this truth!! Ask God to help you cast all those thoughts from your head and know that he is with you ALWAYS!! God Bless xx

Hey Yaz

Well i'm a catholic too and same thing happened to me many many moons ago when i was 13 and i read a book by Sartre. It made me question everything and feel thoroughly unhappy. I stopped going to Mass because it didn't feel right anymore.

I'm 55 now (You see it's been a long time) But i always felt a little prayer helped. I now attend Mass again because life was a good indicator that i needed my faith always! Without it i would never have survived many awful situations i found myself into at times!

You say you love jesus, pray your guardian angel! Mine always helps, has helped through so many nightmares! From losing a child at birth, divorce, ill health, bereavement etc.

Take care

It's just a book mate, just some one's opinions written down in word form, everyone got over excited about the Da Vinci Code when it came out but that was a load of old tosh aswell, religion gives you strength so stick with it don't let others influence what makes you happy, hey and i'm not a religious guy but i know it works for people, isn't that the real truth?

Stating that catholicism is a doorway to satanism is indeed a strong statement. But they are defenitly linked to one another.
Do not forget that the bible describes satan as a fallen angel.
And of course how can there be good if there is no evil.

Dear Yaz,

Well done, you are a thinking person.

I would say, what you are going thru is normal. There is a reason, God give you
2 ears to listen
2 eyes to see
2 nostril to breath thru
but
only 1 mouth to talk.
And 1 big brain or you to use before you speak.

Its ok to contemplate what you have read, think thru it, ask your churh leader for their opinion, then form your OWN judgement.

God has always given human the freedom to choose.

Don't let a book change you a negative way. Honestly its good that you started thinking. Don't let it get you down. Always choose "To Be", cuz if you chose "not to be" then you would seize to exist. Just be glad that you are alive and live your life to the fullest.
