LA vs. San Fran, however I haven't seen the bosox vs. the yanks. I've seen the LA vs. San Fran rivalry at both Dodger Stadium and Candlestick Park (now defunct). However, I'll give you a reason why the doger/giants rivalry is better. The Dodgers and Giants both played in New York at the same time and moved out west within a few years of each other. The hatred the Dodgers and Giants share has been established on both East and West coasts. The Yanks and Sox have a hoard of fans that have jumped on the bandwagon with their recent successes.
We, the good Dodger fans of America, legitimately hate the Giants regardless of how much success our teams have had. Yet, BALCO Barry doesn't even fuel that hate. Dodger fans just feel sorry for Giants fans because Bonds is a degenerate devoid of class or respect for the game. Yes, the Giants are the laughing stock of MLB and many of us just feel sorry for the organization. All of us agree that the game would be better without him. If and only if that happened, we could get back to truely hating each other.

Red Sox v. Yankees
As far as the Dodgers.....it is hard to have a rivalry when you don't show up for the game until the 3rd and then you leave in the 7th.
Cubs/Cards is pretty good too, but fans in the midwest are a lot nicer than New York and Boston fans.

Yanks/Sox is the biggest but probably not the best.
You have to remember that a lot of California fans are also Raider fans in football and they are WILD. Not just wild, but aggressive.
So if you want to see a brawl, get a Raider fan that's also a Giants fan together with an L.A. Mexican that's a Dodgers fan, and pull up a chair (far away). They'll show you what a real rivalry is!
P.S. I'm Mexican so I'm not being racist,
I just know the passion of my people. : )

Yanks/Sox. It's probably the most intense rivalry in all of Sports. Not only is it intense on the field, it's nuts in the stands. You don't want to in in red at Yankee Stadium during that game.

obviously people are gonna say sox yanks, but thats east coast bias. here in LA, the Dodgers Giants rivalry is CRAZY. LA hates barry bonds, and the giants, and san francisco hates the dodgers. don't let people convince you its sox yanks, thats just more famous.

Sox/Yanks more intense. Earlier in the season when Sheffield came back there were chants of you did steroids at Fenway. I believe they scared him so much he went back on the DL.
