You don't have to pay to locate unclaimed funds.

Google: UnclaimedPropertyState ofwhere you live
UnclaimedPropertyTexas or, something like that.

You may have to play around with it

Also, make a list of deceased relatives that may have unclaimed funds. I found money from aunts and grandparents! The money is often from forgotten about insurance policies, bank accounts, businesses that no longer exist, etc. You may find a windfall, you may find $5.00! You have to PROVE that you are related to the person with the unclaimed money, if they are no longer alive.

Make sure the website is for the STATE for which you searched, and not a bogus website. Look carefully for the Official Seal of the State.

Sample website for State of Alaska:
http://www.tax.state.ak.us/unclaimedproperty/

Good luck and have fun on your search.

Have you moved many miles from your previous home and forgot about a bank account? Did you ever own a home and were required to have PMI? Did you ever place a deposit and forget about it, such as with a utility company? Many states have databases of unclaimed assets that you may search under your name for free.

They are 'spam'. They are only trying to see if your email is a "live" email so they can sell it to someone else. Just delete them.
