There are lot of reasons. First India always tried to be the No. 1 in the South Asia, which she couldn't be in the presence of China that's why India always tried to push china on its back while on the other hand Pakistan wants peace in the region. The second main cause is the number of wars India fought with its neigh burs since its independence and it is clear to every one that the enemy of your enemy is your friend. The third reason is that Pakistanis never tried to compete China they just love China...........

The real answer is , or was, known only to the people in China who made the policy. But I think the fact that in the 1960s Pakistan had two borders with China (One of those borders now is a Bengal Or Bangla Deshi border.) while India only had one is part of thee answer.
Another part of the answer is that India has a long (3000 years?)history with China, but Pakistan did not, Pakistan was newer, and weaker in the 1950s then India,
There are other possibilities too, but those two are very likely more important in the context of 20th century.

Becasue, we believe either the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a part of the Peoples Republic of China or the Peoples Republic of China is a part of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in every matter like between two blood brothers. Both can share even their lives to defend each other. Thank you.

If you think in the last decade, I would confirm this observation, an say it was becauso of the China India war in the 1962.
But recently they a starting to see that they have two biggest states with 1/3 of the world market, and that means a huge chance in trade and economic interrelations .Two states that together have
2.5 billion people. This year they have opened a passage in Himalaya that was closed since 1962.
And I would think that Pakistan relations were merely , enemy of my enemy is my frend, but with change of wind, and economy in the mind we will see improvement of relation between India and China..
