In the sources section below is an extensive list of foods that your rabbit can eat and foods that are POISONOUS to your rabbit. Celery is just fine. In fact, my rabbit happens to havea certain fondness for the celery leaves over the actual celery.
By the way, you mentioned lettuce -- make sure you're not feeding your rabbit iceberg lettuce. It's not good for them.
Someone mentioned that dark leafy greens are bad for rabbits. In large quantities, this is true. That is because dark leafy greens have lots of calcium, and an excess of calcium can cause problems with urination. Avoid too much kale or spinach for this reason. However, too much carrots is not a good idea either. Carrots have a lot of sugar in them, and rabbits have a sweet tooth. A lot of sugar will make a happy rabbit into a fat rabbit.
Now, tips on keeping your rabbit cool in hot weather, see the third link. Rabbits dissipate heat out of their ears. In addition to including ice in their water bottle or water bowl, you can try dabbing some cold water on their ears.
Good luck keeping your rabbit cool!

As far as I know, celery or any other garden vegetable is fine for rabbits, since they naturally eat from gardens if they are wild. I've known many farmers who definately don't like rabbits for this reason. It has water in celery too, which should keep it hydrated.

You should let your rabbit indoors. Vegetables aren't going to help keep it from getting heat stroke or attacked by predators. Rabbits are companion animals and love attention that is given to them. You can even litter box train it and the smell won't be bad if you have your bun fixed.

Yes celery is ok to feed them - but as with everything it should be introduced slowly and fed in small amounts.

It won"t hurt them. Give it as a treat as they need their regular pellots . My rabbits don't like celery, they like carrots, lettuce, hay, and they love when I pick fresh clover.
