I am an American Citizen. I see that I can apply for British Citizenship IF my parent is a citizen of Britain.

My father is an American Citizen. His mother, however, is a British Citizen. Can't he apply for citizenship in Britain?

If he does, and is approved (why wouldn't he?) I would then be able to apply for British Citizenship, correct? OR, is this going to far down the family line?

If written letters, I've went onto the britainusa.com website, I've tried calling, but no answers. If you know, please answer, I would appreciate it.

Why do I desire British Citizenship? I'm moving to Spain in a few years, and being a Citizen in Europe would make it easier for me to get a job in Spain.

Why don't I just apply for Citz. in Spain? I have no family ties over there. And, you have to have lived there for 10 years before you can apply. I'm not doing that.

If your Parent(s) are citizens of one country , but you were born in another , you are entitled to "Citizenship by default".
All you have to do is apply for it.
I am a foreigner living in Japan , and am married to a Japanese woman. We have two children together and i applied to my country of origin for citizenship for my children.
My children now have two nationalities , and so I'm told , will have to decide which nationality they wish to have at the age of 21yrs.
Because my children are citizens of my country by default , they CANNOT pass this citizenship onto their children unless the decided to keep it after the age of 21yrs , or go to the country to give birth to their children.

why would you want to become a British citizen? No you cannot get citizenship through your grand mother, she can sign a Visa for you, but not give you the power to become a citizen. The easiest way to gaine citizenship for any country is marry someone who is a citizen of that country but that way sucks because there are alot of rules and a lot of b/s to go through to get this done!
