The short answer to your question is no. But money is only an aspect of the materialistic society we live in.
When you put anything ahead of God, you have lost your focus. You do not loose your soul (body, soul, spirit) when you loose focus. When you have lost your God is when you are in trouble.
I could give plenty examples (bible verses), but you probably already know them..

some people do indirectly. if everything you do during your time is to aquier money or always trying to get cash fast. and barely reflect upon your creator than that is worshipping money. you should always think of God in your everyday life. worship God the way God intends you too.
tonight when you go to sleep pray that God my show you the true path. and if you are sincere then i have no doubt in my mind you will fing the truth.

Everything is God or God's manifestation.So you have to worship money also.

Seriously though I dont worship money I think its the worse thing to happen to this planet since peroxide ( turns hair blond) and the car.
