they probably won't accept american money orders
you could wire him money from your bank to his bank by a telephone transfer and the bank would send it in the correct currency
and he could bring the money order back to the us and get it cashed here
if this was received on the internet or someone you do not know then DO NOT send him any money

Scam! Almost anything from Nigeria, regarding American money, is a SCAM. Don't send anything. Tell your friend it's a scam and he should not get involved.

If you know your friend very well, tell him, it's a scam, and you're sorry, you cannot help him.

DO NOT wire money from YOUR bank account. They will have access to your bank account numer and be able to steal all of the money in your bank account.

Do NOT get involved with anything regarding Nigeria, they are big con artists.

Any international airline will take a credit card.

This is a common scam from Nigeria, called a 419 scam. Nigeria is the most likely candidate for doing this scam, since the government not only doesn't enforce the scam, but certain members of the government participate in this scam.

419 scams are one of the top 10 industries in Nigeria as far as generating foreign currency.

Most of these scams originate from email, but lately the scammers have been going to dating sites and running their scams there.

The number one business in Nigeria is the 419 scam, involving getting Americans to send money. Do you actually know this person...someone you knew in person? Or is this someone you met on the Internet? Never been to Nigeria and wouldn't go. They kidnap Americans for money there.
