Saturday morning when I tried to start my car all I heard was a click I called around talked to a couple of so called experts & they said it was between the battery & the starter I had it towed to a car service place about 2 in the afternoon they went to go push it in the garage & the man got in the car & it started right up They ran some tests & told me everything was fine About a hr later when i tried to start it it almost didnt start. So i took it back & i showed the man but the car wouldnt do it again It was workin fine until yesterday It stopped again I should mention that who ever had my car before rigged the stereo system all wrong When I turn the headlights on the stereo comes on plus there was some other wires dealing with the stereo on the sylenoid The wires were takin off the sylenoid tried to start it & at least this time the motor would actually turn over but it wouldnt start Hooked up the jumper cables & it still wouldnt start came back to it bout 2 hrs later & it started

My battery light came on and it was almost dead. I went and charged it this morning put the battery in and the light was still on and it still showed low. So i was then told it was either the battery or the alternator. To check to see which one it was I took the positive cable off the battery & the car died so It was said that it was the alternator. I went & bought a new alternator had it put on turned the car on for about 20 min took that positive cable off & it still died. So now Im at a lost. Now im thinking maybe its the battery if it would have been the alternator the battery would have showed charged and once I drove it the battery would have went all the way down cuz it wasnt catching a charge. So maybe the battery has a bad cell? Maybe its the sylenoid? Could there be a shortage somewhere? I'll find out tomorrow because Im takin it to the shop.

You may have more than one problem here. The no start is probably partially due to a starter going bad. There are armatures in the starter. When you shut the car off if it lands on a bad armature it will not start. However if the car is jostled while being towed, or if the starter is tapped with a hammer it may be enough to move to the next armature hence the intermittent problem. It is possible the battery is bad. The best thing to do is load test it. You may have 12 volts with the car off but if it goes below 10 while cranking it is probably bad. Also the starter requires a surge of amperage when the car starts so if you have all these other things that require amperage as soon as you turn the key the starter may not be able to pull enough to turn over the engine. The other possibilty is starter cables go bad. If you have a loose or corroded connection or the resistance is too high the starter may not get the amperage it needs to work properly. If the car intermittenly cranks but doesn't start it may be a fuel pump problem. Fuel pumps also have armatures and may not work intermittently ( eventually it will fail altogether). Anyway good luck!

This could be a wiring problem. If you look under the steering wheel, you might see that there has been a security system in it. There could be a bad relay on the starter disconnect relay or someone may have cut a wire and it's barely making contact or used scotch locks (they cut the wire too). Check your wire harness under the steering wheel. It will have larger wires on it that are yellow, purple, red, orange, black, and blue. They go to your key switch and are the actually starting point for your car's electrical system fed from the battery cable at the starter. Good luck.

Are the battery terminals loose or dirty? Try cleaning them if you haven't already. You can get a battery terminal cleaning tool for about 3 or 4 bucks most places.

They probably messed up wiring to the starter or solenoid. It would probably be cheaper to check starter and battery and all battery connections.
