There is no difference between htm and html. It's just that some older operating systems couldn't handle four-letter file extensions, so html was abbreviated to htm.

No difference both html & htm represent the same file format that is HTML file.......

Absolutely nothing that I am aware. HTML - stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and the file formats associated with it are .htm and .html. If thats what you were looking for.

HTML tags can be used in either file extensions.

They both are the same. HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language. HTM stands for Hypertext Markup.

Through time, they just got rid of the L in HTML. Both works the same.

URL = universal language
HTML= Is a language used to create web pages.
HTM= same as HTML

practically there is no difference...
htm is more of a DOS kind of name extension (due to its limitation), html is more of Windows kind of extension

.htm is more usual for Windows servers; .html for Linux.

seriously. "l" is the only difference. back in the day, like before windows xp, operarting systems would only recognize a file extension with only three alpha-numeric characters.
