Isn't it obvious?! The media has been biast for years! Most of
the Television stations and newspapers are owned by liberals.
Thats why Fox news is a breath of fresh air. It's nice to be able
to hear both sides of the story. I get sick of hearing all of the
complaining and negative news. It's nice to hear some good news
once in a while. I like to hear about all the women and children
in Iraq that are now free to attend School etc. It's nice to hear about
the good things that are happening around the world and not just
the bad. Also. If you think back when Clinton was in office. You
didn't hear alot of Clinton bashing like you hear about Bush now
on Tv and believe me he was no saint either!

Well, as a card carrying liberal, I've heard that for most of my life. Well, not the Bush part, as he wasn't really around as Pres for most of my life, but the republican part.
And honestly, no, in fact lately I've seen quite a few news reports that appear to be coming directly from the republicans themselves.
I think that there are two groups of media when it comes to these situations.
The mainstream 'news' media, like your local nightly news or CNN or the like. These people, in my opinion, pretty much just report the news. The larger groups more so than the smaller groups, but the news itself, no matter what it is, is reported by these groups.
The second group is the group that makes up the rest of the media, such as small newspapers that focus on a specific group, magazines, and smaller groups of reporters that don't really attach themselves to large groups.
This second group of people will typically report in a biased fashion based on their reader base. This will sometimes be liberal and sometimes conservative.
But overall, no, I don't think that the media is out to get bush or the republicans. No need at this point, he manages to harm his image and his reputation at every turn.
Love as always,
Sebastian

okay you want one thing unfair. President Bush did not veto a bill on stem cell research. This President has supported stem cell research by funding it. the President vetoed the bill on Embryonic stem cell research. most media outlets did not use the word Embryonic, they framed the story as he vetoed all stem cell research. which is not true only vetoed Embryonic funding. people in the private sector can fund all the research they want. also the work being done with adult stem cell research is finding more results then embryonic research.

a 2004 pew research poll found that jouralist considered themselve liberal 34% and conservate only 5% . so yes the media has an agenda to push. look at our econmy numbers run very close to President Clintons, yet this is called a terrible econmy and President Clintons was called the greatest night after night.

The media, in general, calls out people who aren't doing the right thing. If it happens to be Republicans, I guess that says something about Republicans.

oh boy , where do I start? The liberal media as dito head refer to it, is not liberal at all. Just look at how the war going on now in the mid east is covered, and youll see again a strong conservative leaning. In fact, name me 3 really big liberal talk shows, you probably cant. But you can name dozens of conservativee ones. But hres the scoop. When a liberal prez is in office, its the opposite. Its not that the media is one color or the other, it is that they fool idiots into getting the country devided, because at heart the media is what we in Texas call "**** startes". Thats pure a simple, they want to stir **** to get ratings. So quit listening to Hannity, Coulter or any other **** starter and gio study history.

Can you give an example of the media reporting something that is unfair or false?
The media is, and should be in my opinion, very tough on all politicians... it's their job...
it seems like the republicans have been screwing up a lot though... should the media ignore it and act like it didn't happen?

If that is true then why is all we hear on the news consistent of the republican agenda: gay marriage, war on terror, immigration.... Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the right is controlling what the media talks about.

Most definitely. Sometimes they will go as far as blatantly lying (Happy retirement Dan Rather). Intelligent people don't buy it-and so far there are more of us then them (republican president, Congress, House) but look out for the MTV generation.
