Because its made in their size. Clothing co's are partly to blame cause they give these girls a sense of false hope. It's in their size, so they feel that they can look just as equally as hot as a size 2 in a size 22. But when you're talking nearly five times the fabric, you have to reconsider your options. I've been at both ends, super small and big, but I knew what my restrictions were with each size.

This is a question with so many answers you'd be reading for a lifetime. I've tried to narrow it down to just a few...
1) They truly don't care how they dress. Either they've had the clothes before their spare tire formed or they purchased them recently & apparently felt attractive in them.
2) They feel discriminated in the lack of plus-size clothing available. I'm not a size 6 & I have some very plus-size friends. Most "big girl" clothes are not made for juniors. They're plain & tapered. What teenager or twenty-something wants to wear clothes made for their mother's generation?! Nada!
3) They do it for attention. You know the celebrity saying "no publicity is bad publicity"? That applies here. The girls figure if they're turning heads, it's not in a negative fashion (no pun intended).
Finally, to the vile few with no apparent physical flaws which have responded to this question, don't knock the girls wearing shorts or tank tops that AREN'T too small for their bodies. Everyone deserves to be comfortable. Just because you cover up large arms or big legs does not mean they shrink! It's comments like yours (along with pictures of airbrushed models) that add to the drastically high percentage of anorexic & bulimic people in the world.
If you're going to be so ignorant, I believe anyone with a ski-slope nose should have a court-ordered face mask. They should never have photos taken in profile. Maybe unkempt hair should be cut off. Where would the "imperfections" stop?
Most importantly, to the super-skinny girls, try to dress tastefully, too. Just because they make it in your size doesn't mean you should wear it.

I don't know, but I know what you mean. Maybe they can't afford any other clothes and the only ones they have are the ones that showed off their body before they got fat. I would say give their love handles a good pinch. That will be that last time little miss soggy bottom wears that "hottie" shirt.
I teach at a middle school and I think for one day all the male teachers should wear baggy pants and their hats all off to the side and the women regardless of age or figure, should wear those little tummy shirts that say "Princess". That would end those fads really quick.
I miss grunge...whatever happened to grunge.

Because none of us have petitioned to have certain clothing unavailable in a size higher than a 6.
I can't imagine why the clothing industry would make hip huggers in a size 22. Or a tank top. Or a mini skirt.
Big girls who read this, Look in the mirror before leaving your house. You have no idea how many people laugh at you behind your back....Even your best friend won't tell you that an elephant in a bikini is still an elephant.

it is an argument of self confidance.they're making an attempt to tutor their length isn't yet a body of suggestions. contained in the society that"skinny"is proper, those overweight females take a probability to assert they're no distinct than absolutely everyone else.

I'm a big girl myself and I've often wondered that question. I'm embarrassed for them when I see them. When I look in the mirror I see me, all of me. What do they see? I'm lucky enough to have a husband who loves all of me, good & bad. I probably wear my clothes too big, trying to hide the extra baggage.

I know what you talking about. I am a fat girl and I hate when gurls have their bellies hanging over there pants and bottoms. People already think badly of big people, without big people who don't know how to make themselves decent. Well, truly some big girls think that when they wear big clothes it makes them look bigger. As a big gurl I don't dress like that and I wish other big girls would dress decent and not try to be something their not.

Maybe they don't want to buy new clothes since they gained weight. Some women believe that the weight gain is temporary. Also, some women have a false picture of themselves and don't dress for their size or their age.

because some guys actually like girls who dress like that. not that theres something wrong with being a little heavy, but they should wear clothes that fit them right, not 10 sizes too small. i have a friend that is overweight, and she wears small sizes too. she gets a lot of boyfriends but they like that junk in the trunk!

They're in denial for one, and two, they actually think they look good. It's disgusting!! It's really nasty when they're wearing a tiny t-shirt, low rise jeans, and you see a thong sticking out...not a good mental image at all!!
