I believe we all find our own purpose. Helping others or making someone else's life a little better should be a part of everyone's purpose:)

Our purpose on this Earth is to keep ourselves on Earth...

As a species, we subconciously want to keep everyone alive and well. If not, as a species we will disappear. Other people subconciously want to keep ourselves as a species on earth by making babies. Or making it a better place for their babies.

There is nothing we can do about it. We are built to survive and make others like us survive as well.

It is unselfish of you to make it better for others, but completely selfish when looked at from the point of view of you being from the human race.

I agree with you.
But first we need to make it a better place for ourselves.
If everybody attempts to care of himself first there will be less misery left in the world.

Then, once we have achieved our well being to a certain level we need to do charity so that those left behind - for whatever reason can catch up with us. This also guarantees that they will not envy us and cast unnecessary evil eyes on our progress.

The Tibetan monks achieve higher levels of meditation collectively and believe that one cannot achieve higher levels of meditation living among people with much lower levels. It applies to architechture, arts, litrature, sports, finance etc... and practical life.

keep walking.

I agree you believe that our purpose on EArt is to make a better place for others.

As fo me,I believe my purpose here on Earth is to live here on Earth, otherwise, I would be elsewhere. As for others I think they are here because they are here as well.

It is nice of you to want to do things for others, but; take it from someone who does things for others, it is not a purpose, it is a courtesy, and a courtesy all too soon overlooked by most.

I don't do things for others to make it better for them. I do things for others, because; they are "good" things to do.

yes,.. but in an indirect way..
our purpose in life is to make the most of what life has to offer us and to make this world a better place for us..
when we acheive a satisfied & peaceful state of mind by that..we will automatically be making it a better place for others..
altruism should be followed..but 'The Self' must be given the due importance & respect only then will you be able to serve others with dignity..& only then will it be true service..

It's obvious. You will die some day, and someone will be born, just as easily as you were born. Imagine if it was you that was born again, wouldn't you want to live in a world that was as nice or better than when you were born? If we all work on making the world a better place, our children will certainly respect their ancestors.

Live your life well, serve others, and try to make things better. Nothing wrong with that! Of course, there are those that constantly try to pee on other's parades, but, what ya gonna do?
