The U.S. lost 56,000 men in Vietnam over 10 years. In the U.S., 50,000 die in car accidents each year and 25-30,000 are murdered. Unfortunately, you are 10 times more likely to get killed in a city in the U.S. than fighting in Iraq.

The exact answer is ...... TOO MANY....

Actually, the American civil war could have been avoided...

If truly it was to free the country of slavery, a simple law could
have been presented and voted in, giving the slave owners a
period of 5 years to make their 'slaves' simply workers, giving
them their freedom to stay or go...
The good ones would have had more work force while the
bad ones would have lost their workers...
A law is a law... no need the fighting an guns......

If President Jefferson would have been listened too, and have
a special law review committee to ajust laws every 20 years
for the whole country, the Civil War would not have been needed
to start with...... So, all the lost of lives was a BIG ERROR unfortunately...

War is an ancient, barbarian, uncivilized way of clearing matters.

Like 2 guys fighting over any subject..... If you cannot find a compromise, keep away... find a mediation committee and
respect other people if not oneself....

No war known was ever worth the killing an destruction...

So, your answers are exact here....

Nobody knows how many. Most of the people who die in 3rd millenium wars are civilians. No reliable agency has responsibility for maintaining a good count. The belligerents in a war probably won't agree to any counts made, and they usually haven't much concern for the people they kill. In Afghanistan and Iraq, the US military has refused to try to count the civilians that die from the wars. Links to some additional information: http://www.iraqbodycount.net/

World War II had the most casualties of any war. The estimates are 62 million. (see source)

As for how many people die each year, you should start your search here.
