Take any three diffrent digits,
eg 982,
flip it to get something like
289,
substract the smaller from the larger
982-289
Divide the results from the difference between the absolute value of the first digit and last digit ( in this case 2 and last 9)
What do you get?
Do for all combination.

The moral of the story, mathematics is easy and follows a certain pattern, and this pattern is what mathematicians try to find???
Thanks

An interesting observation, but trivially true.

XYZ - ZYX can be written as

100X + 10Y +Z - (100Z +10Y + X) =

100(X-Z) +Z-X = 100(X-Z) - (X-Z) = 99(X-Z) and hence your result of 99.

Simple arithmetic is easy. But try solving a problem like Fermat's last theorem. Ask Andrew Wiles if it was easy. Or solve the Riemann hypothesis and collect a cool million. From your 'pic' and words, you are obviously quite young. But you probably have some talent so enjoy exploring the world of math.

It's so Easy man...
let suppose we have 3 digits a,b,c
the Number is Z and its Flip is Y
then...
if we wirite Z = "abc" like "982", Y ="cba" like "289"
Z = 100a + 10b +c
Y = a + 10b +100c
So
Z-Y = 100a + 10b + c - a - 10b - 100c
Z-Y = 99a - 99c
Z-Y = 99 (a-c)
So
(Z-Y) / |a-c| = 99(a-c) / |a-c|
= 99
..........SO Easy Huh???

The first two posters are idiots.

If you actually thought this up, kudos to you. We need logical thinkers in the world.

Although I hate (Loathe, despise, pick a word) math, I give people who actually sit down and think this stuff up credit.

I couldn't do it.
