Really never heard of this before..but giving birth always hurts no matter if you put a whole table set darling........lol

No it doesn't. This is just another one of those old wive's tales. Now, an epidural during labor and delivery cuts the pain!!!

I read somewhere the knife was placed under the daybed, for protection. that's all I know about that..
