the owner/manger negotiates a contract with the person/business to do cleaning/janitorial work far a set price/rate based on a rsidence and what is to be done, and for a business, usually a per square foot. houses may be done daily or weekly or even just when called. businesses usually have done daily, but may elect to do it twice or three times a week. the sq. ft. should be a set price per month. for example, $700/mo for 1750 sq ft twice a week. houses are usually flat rate such as $55 pervisit with the following being done___ and the following not covered ___ etc. you fill in the blanks such as no laundry or windows (priced seperately for each) and including vacuuming all rooms etc. Employees recieve a set hourly if a house or a certain amout per month if commercial business services are supplied. Large office buildings have contract with a firm, which manages their own personnel, having managers crew chiefs, floor supervisors and other personnel who are mainly hourly employees, but also may supply personnel during normal hours of the week and some who can be called on short notice in case of emergencies. learn the business and only start one if you can afford it, and you have sufficient business to do it full time. you may have to start doing the work yourself, before you can hire others. if you have to keep eqmnt and/or provide supplies charge accordingly or insure that you can be reimbursed by those you supply.
