I myself have one of these and it just depends on how bad it is before the doc removes it or not. In alot of cases like mine, he found years ago and it has still not been removed. I dont have alot of trouble with it at all.
If you have to have the surgery done, you will be fine and it just depends on how long your doc keeps you in the hospital. Good luck to ya.

Not everyone who has a hiatel hernia has surgery, but you will check with your doctor. The hernia shows raising a bump when from lying flat you sit up straight. If you don't have surgery this is a vulnerable spot and you must ask the doctor how to avoid straining there, and what are the consequences of strain.

patients with hernia surgery usually goes home during the same day surgery... meaning- it shouldn't be too bad. unless there's complicatins.

usually surgery..it tends to get worse over time and cause digestive problems like your bowels kinking up
